As I wait
With my eyes looking around like a hawk waiting for its prey
My ears open
Ready to strike
Hands sweating
Then I hear a sudden sound
I spin around like dreidel on hanukkah
Nothing but a couple of lousy squirrels

The first hour passes
Then the second
Then the third day
Still nothing
Food running low
An animal must die so I can survive
Thinking I might die in the woods

Then I hear a loud sound over the next hill
I look up
I see a huge rack of horns
I scope in
I finally see a deer’s dark right eye
The eye is like a small black hole
BANG

I miss to its left
TCH-GCK
I reload
I scope in again
I take a deep breath
BANG
The deer drops like a sack of potatoes
I scamper over to my kill like a cheetah
Atlast I beat the Wild

In my Mustang shifting gears
Six speed to seventy
Seven seconds rush by
Driving fast down a no lane road
The barren blacktop beneath my whirling wheels

Guard down, top down,
Deep bass country music turned up.

I’m going a million miles an hour
With no care in the world, no thoughts in my head
I’m not looking back, I’m living for today

With my Mustang as my witness
I accelerate along on my journey
To where? I don’t know
As long as it’s not where I’ve been.

Tick, Tock,
The only sound in the whole room
Except for when they whisper
And when we write

Tick, Tock,
Everyone's eyes
On the clock,
Waiting to be let free
From this wretched place,

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,
The sound of freedom
The sound of hope
The shuffling and squeaking of feet
On the dirty tile floor
As we race to leave
Detention

S p l i s h,
S p l a s h,
That’s how the ocean used to go.
But, sadly,
Now the ocean is drowning,
In garbage
That we put there.
But we don’t care!
We should care!
The ocean,
Day by day,
Is waiting to drown in its own home.

We should care that the fish population is decreasing,
We should care that the bird population is decreasing,
But instead, we only care about ourselves!
The ocean is like a flower,
It needs to be taken care of in order to survive.
So why don't we take care of it?
We can fix our mistakes,
We can change the ocean, the beaches, the air
We should change!

One day the world might depend on us changing,
So why not start now!
And make the ocean thrive with fish,
Make the air flourish with birds and,
Make the world prosper with life,
S p l i s h,
S p l a s h,

That’s how the ocean will go again,
Someday,
If only we tried.

The Goal
Tie game
third period
ten seconds left
Face off in their zone
I line up for the face off
I feel my adrenaline racing like an accelerating car

Quiet as quiet can be
Fans faces fearing our failure
Veins as cold as ice
My thoughts saying
We need a goal!

Won the face off, back to the defensemen
He winds up for a slapshot and it sails
Crowd cheers
Off the crossbar, clang, clank, clatter
Quiet as quiet can be
three seconds left
loose puck

I pick it up
Veins as cold as ice
Shoot and score!
The crowd cheers champs champs champs!

Hard work
is
Blood
Sweat
and tears
a pounding heart

It's not easy
Like winning a world series or an N.B.A championship
Hard
Is tough
but
when you do
You can
Accomplish

Success is so simpatico
Like
Getting a 100 in L.A 107
hard

Anything and everything
It all takes
Hard work

The Beach

The heat lingering on the back of my neck
The feet in the rough, beige, warm, sand
The breeze quivering trees

Playing tag in the distance
With my grandma
Eating peaches

My everlasting wishes
Coming true in an instant
With love in our hearts
With kindness in our souls
With a gentle breeze
A regretless, rememberable, ravishing night
At the beach
