Have you ever succeeded?
Maybe in a tough competition? What did you use to succeed? Well, there can be
many traits that lead to success, but one is perseverance. This is how I use
perseverance and how you can use it to succeed for yourself.
Perseverance has helped
me in many different challenges. For example, one unforgettable moment when I
used perseverance was during a BMX race. I went up against a girl, and she was
nice but also fast. We were about the same speed and strength, which means it
was going to be an intense battle to qualify for the main on the first race. It’s
helpful to qualify since you can skip the second race and rest before the main.
While I was at the starting gate, it was a beautiful and clear summer night,
but there was no time to think about that.
I was at the gate. The
gate was gray with these little grippy strips. It was ready for the race to go
down. Then I heard the voice of the gate start, “Okay riders, random start,
riders ready watch the gate.” Then there was a series of beeps; down
went the gate. It was on. We were going around the track, and we were on the
last straight away. It was then when I used my perseverance. She was right in
front of me, but I thrusted through all the tiredness and pedaled as fast as a golden
eagle. Thankfully, I flew right by her at the last second. I made it to the
main on the first round, so I didn’t have to do the second qualifier. That is
how I used perseverance in my own life.
I use perseverance
because it can make me overcome challenges, and it makes me power through until
the end, even if it is very difficult, or easy. Perseverance works to be able
to succeed and can make you succeed more.
Perseverance is a trait
that can help you go through tough challenges while still making you succeed.
Perseverance can be used in hard or easy challenges but will never let you
down. I feel like perseverance is a big deal in my life and is very important
to have to be able to succeed. I feel as though perseverance is one of my most
admirable traits. Perseverance is a character trait that you can use in your
life to succeed.

I think the message was even if you are in a challenging situation you should use perseverance to get through it. A quote I found that really supported the message was, “She was right in front of me, but I thrusted through all the tiredness and pedaled as fast as a golden eagle.” Iiked how you wrote it because it kept me at the edge of my seat. I like support through detail because the writing was not that broad.

I like how she said, “ Pedaled as fast as a golden eagle.” It gave me a very nice visual on how the race started.
ReplyDeleteThe central idea was all about perseverance and the benefits of it. I liked the way that the author explained why you need perseverance and introduced her story. I like the way the author also gives a couple definitions of perseverance. The way the author describes what perseverance does for you and why you need it as the author says, “Perseverance works to be able to succeed and can make you succeed more.” The author interacts with the audience and restates the central idea.

You said, “She was right in front of me, but I thrusted through all the tiredness and pedaled as fast as a golden eagle.” Although you were heavily fatigued, you kept on pushing yourself to succeed and persevered through the challenge. I also enjoyed your use of figurative language in your writing. For example, you used a metaphor when saying you pedaled as fast as a golden eagle. This helped me to understand how fast you were pedaling.

ReplyDeleteI think that's this essay was extraordinary, and wonderful because you used wonderful writing skills by this quote “Perseverance is a trait that can help you go through tough challenges while still making you succeed. Perseverance can be used in hard or easy challenges but will never let you down.” I can really relate this to my life because I used perseverance by thinking I was not going to be able to ride a bike, but in the end I used perseverance.

Perseverance is an amazing trait to have, and you have shown us an amazing example. You knew from the start that you should keep going even when the competition could be better. I like how you provided specific details on what everything was and looked like, so we could visualize the whole story. Like when you said, “I was at the starting gate. It shows that even if the odds are stacked against you, you can still come out on top if you try hard enough. ReplyDeleteThe message this piece brings is that of perseverance. When I think about perseverance it takes me back to some unique challenges I have had to get through. I think that when I first started learning how to swim it was hard, but by persevering I did not give up, and thanks to that noteworthy quality, I have evolved to be a capable swimmer. Isla alluded to this when she said, “ I use perseverance because it can make me overcome challenge." Isla's message comes across as very strong. As a reader, she made grasping the sensory language and strong adjectives extremely simple. You use a variety of words that captivate the reader. That is an excellent piece of writing.
