Tick, Tock,
The only sound in the whole room
Except for when they whisper
And when we write

Tick, Tock,
Everyone's eyes
On the clock,
Waiting to be let free
From this wretched place,

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,
The sound of freedom
The sound of hope
The shuffling and squeaking of feet
On the dirty tile floor
As we race to leave
Detention

  1. I loved how the poem used specific detail to describe the scene to make me feel as if I were there in that moment with them. The central idea: Freedom. " The sound of freedom
The sound of hope" and " Waiting to be let free
    From this wretched place."

  2. I love how the poem made me feel like I was there with you at this moment. One line in the poem that made me feel this way and show the mood of the poem was,"Tick, Tock ,
    Everyone's eyes
On the clock," This poem made me think of a time when I was stuck in class waiting to get let out for the day.

  3. The line that establishes the mood is "Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,
    The sound of freedom
    The sound of hope
The shuffling and squeaking of feet
    On the dirty tile floor
As we race to leave" This develops the mood of impatient.
    Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr is a onomatopoeia

  4. I think the mood in this poem is The sound of freedom. Which is like they were trying to get freedom and get out. I think the poetic device that supports this mood is a Metaphor. ¨The sound of freedom¨.
