Love is like a comet
Strong and fierce
Shooting far and fast
To be oblivious
Of the bottom of the hour glass
becoming so ever close to full
Exploding into thousands of pieces
Of heart and soul
They lay frozen at the bottom of their bottle
To mend them means to revive them
to become whole once more
Sadly some never make it
To the final stage of healing
-Alexus Thibodeau
Your creativity really shines through this poetry! I love all the metaphors and similes you put in! When reading this poem, the central idea I got out of it was heartbreak. The message I learned was that love can be a dangerous thing. If it's not regulated, it can break you to your core. The lines, "Sadly some never make it, To the final stage of healing," and, "Exploding into thousands of pieces, Of heart and soul," helped me infer both the central idea and the theme of this poem.
ReplyDeleteThis poem was beautifully written! I loved how you used the simile "Love is like a comet" to establish the mood. I also like the metaphors that are used to create the mood, such as the line,"They lay frozen at the bottom of their bottle." I think your figurative language really shone through in this poem.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is very well written. You used poetic devices to really help your poem come to life. One of example of this is when you used metaphor. You used this here, "Love is like a comment". It really helped your central idea of Love. You really used figurative language and descriptive words and your language use in a very good way.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your poem! I really think you set the mood with the metaphor in these lines lines,"Love is like a comet", "Strong and fierce" and "Shooting far and fast" by comparing love to a comet and describing it.
