There
was a world of inferno surrounding me with the power to melt me into a chunk of
cardboard.
I
was spinning my lance as show-off, but inside, my motors were spinning in
frantic fear and sapping my battery.
My
battery was almost consumed before I even took a step.
I
was a pygmy but arrogant.
The
will to fight is always awake inside of me.
Then
suddenly, my opponent came, his orange eyes blazing with hatred and willing to
ignite me by just staring at me, like the devil’s eyes.
But
I stared back with determination and stood up tall to my face my enemy head on.
Tick
Tock Tick Tock.
One
minute later, there were only smoldered pieces of cardboard littering the floor
around me.
As
the announcer exclaimed, the crowd started to roar, reverberating my gears.
As I looked at my opponent's eyes all I could
see was surprise and defeat.

I thought that you conveyed the mood very well. For example; the line " his orange eyes blazing with hatred and willing to ignite me by just staring at me, like the devil’s eyes " helped me understand the angry and intense mood of the poem. The simile "like the devil's eyes" was a great way of conveying these ideas.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Adhiksit Kalra! The central idea I interpreted was perseverance. I interpreted this from the second and third stanzas, which included "My battery was almost consumed..." and "But I stared back with determination." The former stated that the character was clearly not in a mood to fight the other character, but the latter shows that the main character is now willing to fight the other character. Obviously, that determination turned out well for the main character. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteGood job Adhiksit!"As I looked at my opponent's eyes all I could see was surprise and defeat" from that sentence I can infer, that your message is to never give up and always believe in yourself before anything.
ReplyDeleteWhat a phenomenal poem. I think that the structure of this amazing poem, was in stanzas, since it was a poem. I loved how the first stanza was about the setting, so I could get see what is going on. The second stanza was about was about his thoughts on the future fight, because it says " The will to fight is always awake inside of me". The third stanza was about the fight because it states "But I stared back with determination and stood up tall to my face my enemy head on". The final stanza was about what he thought after he won the fight. Finally You did a great job.
