Spot

My spot,
Is the red flower,
Across the room,
On the wall.

I turn like a doll,
With precision,
With my eyes fixed to,
My spot.

Quick bunny feet,
Head whips around,
Always looking for,
My spot.

In time,
With time ,
Always reaching for,
My spot.

Find, reach, achieve,
I always find,
Never neglect or overlook,
My spot.

Every step,
I take,
I am impending upon,
My spot.

Like a predator,
I am focused,
Only on,
My spot.

Swift movements,
Aiming for perfection,
Reaching steadily for,
My spot.

As I finish, and reach my spot,
I start over again,
And find another flower,
 to be my spot.

  1. This is amazing Ashlee Lowe. You were able to use something as small as a flower, and used it to describe how even though you might not get it right the first time, never give up. The line "Like a predator,I am focused, only on,my spot" was a great way to give the audience the message of staying focused and never letting yourself be distracted. Overall, this was amazing.

  2. Awesome poem! "Aiming for perfection." I thought this quote meant determination. I thought the central idea was determination because you are trying to perfect your turns.

  3. Ashlee, your poem was very good. One message which I learned from your poem was in order to reach a goal it will take time, but after you reach that goal, set a harder goal to achieve. The corresponding line to go with my message is, "As I finish, and reach my spot, I start over again, And find another flower, to be my spot." The messages you are implying in your poem can be used through out everyone's daily life.

  4. WOW! I think the message is determination. Once you achieve a goal, strive for something even better. The quotes "Reaching steadily for my spot" and "As I finish, and reach my spot, I start over again" really made me think about determination.

  5. Ashlee, I really liked how your font went from small to big from the beginning to the end. I thought it meant that you are gaining achievements and that your "spot" was number 1. I also really like the part "Swift movements, Aiming for perfection, Reaching steadily for, My spot." Great job!
